Landlord Compliance Check is published by Glide Marketing Ltd, a UK limited company. The editorial direction is set by Mike McDonnell, founder of Glide Marketing and a UK-based marketer with a decade of experience in SEO and digital growth.
We are not a contractor, marketplace or certificate issuer. Our role is to inform landlords and point them towards reputable services to book with.
How we research cost figures
Our cost bands are aggregated from publicly available sources: tradesperson directories, energy performance certificate registers, trade body guidance, council fee schedules, and surveys of UK compliance providers. We refresh the data quarterly.
Local pricing adjustments reflect realistic regional cost-of-living differences and travel-time factors. Exact final pricing always depends on the engineer, the condition of the property, and any remedial work uncovered during inspection.
How we make money
When you click through to a booking platform and complete a booking, we may earn a commission from that platform. This never changes the price you pay. Some links on the site are clearly labelled sponsored or affiliate; we use a sitewide notice and an in-context disclosure on every page that contains commercial links.
We also plan to offer a £9/mo Pro reminder subscription for landlords who want automated expiry tracking across multiple properties. Pro is a self-serve product and is not promoted ahead of any free service we list.
Editorial standards
- We name the legal source of every certificate requirement, with section and year.
- We do not publish AI-generated filler. Every page is reviewed by a human editor before going live.
- We never accept payment in exchange for editorial coverage. Our certificate hub pages do not feature any single provider above another.
- When we make a mistake, we update the page and add a note at the bottom.
